The Sophie Lévêque Gallery is celebrating its sixth anniversary.

The Opening will be hold on March 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the presence of the artist Dominique Albertelli and Christian Noorbergen.

“I have the pleasure of celebrating the anniversary in March 2025 alongside Dominique ALBERTELLI, talented artist and Christian NOORBERGEN, art critic and speaker, with a wonderfully poetic pen; both did me the honor of responding to my invitation to come to Verdun, a small town nestled in a so-called “rural” department, thus affirming their support in my approach and my speech which tends to demonstrate that art has no borders, and that the threshold of gallery can be crossed by everyone…

In a tumultuous context where the notion of humanity is being undermined, where artificial intelligence is spreading in our lives, sometimes to the detriment of the spontaneity of our human sensitivities, the gallery wishes to present an artist who, through her painting, digs into the mysteries of existence to save life… Dominique ALBERTELLI stood out. She traveled the world… her studies as an ethnologist took her to the Amazon where she lived for two years in total immersion with a Native American tribe, whose practice of shamanism invites us to preserve the archaic sources buried in our deep mind… this experience inevitably helped to guide the hand of the painter that she became, back in Paris, after having followed the courses at the Boulle school… in her painting and her drawings she questions human complexity filled with contradictions “I” and “the other”, “dialogue” or “duality”… “humanity” and “animality”…. His characters, with an overall urban appearance, do not however follow the steps of normality; They refuse to become little robots and want to live their existence to the fullest: the animal part is revealed in each of them, helping them to live their lives to the fullest.”
